São Paulo, Brazil, April 9th, 2013 – One of the most popular and successful fantasy TV series created – the HBO Emmy® and Golden Globe®-winning Game of Thrones – comes alive for fans in São Paulo with an immersive, not-to-be-missed touring exhibition that will transport viewers into the breathtaking and enchanted world of Westeros. Based on George R.R. Martin’s best-selling books, Game of Thronesis an intricate, visually stunning and epic series that has captured the imaginations of fans globally with its striking characters that live in a world where summers and winters can last years. The third season premiered in Latin America simultaneously with the United States on March 31st and the new season has already been confirmed.

The engaging exhibition, created to bring a piece of the vivid and rich world of Westeros, is presented by HBO in São Paulo and is free to the public. Tickets will be available starting Sunday, April 14th after the airing of the third episode of the series.

Touring five international cities in total (Toronto, New York City, São Paolo, Amsterdam and Belfast), the exhibit focuses on key characters from five of the noble houses (Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, Baratheon and Greyjoy), showcasing a treasure trove of more than 70 original artifacts from seasons 1 and 2, plus select pieces from the current season.
Among the displays are:
Costumes, props, armor and weapons – Artisans, whose superb craftsmanship has provided authenticity to the medieval theme of the show, worked closely with HBO to curate the exhibit with several items, including an impressive costume display overseen by the show’s head costume designer Michele Clapton, who dressed the mannequins herself to ensure accuracy in the presentation of the extraordinarily detailed garments, along with iconic artifacts such as model dragons, weaponry (King Joffrey’s crossbow, daggers and swords such as “Ice” and “Longclaw”), armor (helmets, shields and full suits of armor worn by key characters in the show), crowns, jewelry, books and much more.
Backwater Bay Interactive Experience – Fans will get an opportunity to participate in an exciting, interactive experience that will place them amid the action of the epic battle of Blackwater Bay from season 2.
The Iron Throne – Fit for any king or queen, fans will be able to take their photo on a precise replica of the iron throne from the series to post and share on social media sites.
The Game of Thrones exhibit will be held in São Paulo from April 25th to 30th at JK Iguatemi Mall located at Av. Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek, 2041 – Vila Olimpia.
