Miami, April 01, 2013 – HBO Latin America will premiere the original documentary special Beyoncé: Life is But a Dream on May 11th. Multiple Grammy® winner, entrepreneur and actress Beyoncé – one of the biggest music stars on the planet– is the focus of this all-new documentary film, directed by Beyoncé herself and airing exclusively on HBO. Part documentary, part concert, the film is an honest and revealing portrait that strips off the veneer surrounding Beyoncé’s personal life, providing fans with raw, unprecedented access to this once-in-a-lifetime artist.
Originally part of the world renowned R&B trio Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé has been in the public spotlight for 15 years. The film gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at Beyoncé as a multi-faceted person: singer, businesswoman, songwriter, actress, entrepreneur, wife and mother.
Over the course of 90 captivating minutes, the singer lets down her guard to show viewers the private side of her whirlwind life. It includes extensive first-person footage, some of it shot by Beyoncé on her laptop, in which she reflects on the realities of celebrity, the refuge she finds onstage, and the transcendent joy of becoming a mother in January 2012.
The film also features clips from some of her amazing performances, the intense physical and emotional demands she goes through in the studio, preparing for live performances, running a business, and managing her family life.
This HBO exclusive film is a candid self-portrait that is honest, sincere and thoroughly engrossing.
