Santiago, Chile, May 28th, 2012 - HBO Latin America announced the beginning of filming for the second season of the successful original series, Prófugos (Fugitives). The acclaimed production will film for 6 months and commence on May 29th in Santiago, Chile, in different locations around the country such as Easter Island and Torres del Paine. Just like the first season, the story will continue to be full of action and unexpected plot twists.
Prófugos (Fugitives) is nominated for a Golden Nymph at the Monte Carlo Television Festival in the Best Drama TV Series category. The show was also nominated in the Drama TV Series category for Outstanding Actor, Outstanding Actress, and also for Outstanding International Producer.

Peraza, HBO Latin America Group Executive Vice President of Original Production. “With this new season of Prófugos, HBO continues promoting innovative projects that address relevant issues and show the high quality of Latin American talent,” he added.
Some of the actors in the series include Benjamín Vicuña, Alfredo Castro, Néstor Cantillana, Luis Gnecco, Blanca Lewin, Antonia Zegers, Francisco Melo and Roberto Farias, among others.
In regards to the show’s plot, at the end of the first season there is little left of what was once the Ferragut Cartel. Kika Ferragut, the Cartel’s leader, and Oscar Salamanca (Francisco Reyes) died unexpectedly, while Mario Moreno (Luis Gnecco), Álvaro Parraguez “Tegui” (Benjamín Vicuña), and Vicente Ferragut (Néstor Cantillana) were betrayed by Laura Ferragut (Blanca Lewin) who fled with the loot, leaving her associates in the hands of the police.
The first chapters of the second season take place in two completely different settings: the cruel and dangerous maximum-security prison and the paradise that is Easter Island. On one side, the raw reality of Moreno, Vicente, and Tegui, who struggle day in and out to survive, while on the other side, Laura continues in the drug trafficking business, creating a cartel of grand proportions.
Consisting of 13 hour-long, episodes, Prófugos is produced by HBO Latin America Originals and filmed by the production house, Fabula. Producers include Pablo and Juan de Dios Larraín, while under the General Direction of Pablo Larraín. The Argentinean Adrian Caetano will also be directing. The writing team consists of Pablo Ilanes, Josefina Hernández and Enrique Videla.
