Miami, May 21st, 2012 – HBO Latin America announced that it will begin filming the new original series, Señor Ávila. The dramatic series, produced and filmed in Mexico, revolves around Ávila, an insurance salesman and family man who lives a double-life also working as a paid assassin. Things become complicated when he gets promoted to “Señor Ávila,” the highest position in the organization. The HBO Latin America Originals production will be filmed by the production house, Lemon Films.
“This new production is part of HBO’s continued growth as one of the major producers and as the leader in Premium television in Latin America,” said Luis F. Peraza, HBO Latin America Group Executive Vice President of Original Production. “With series such as Capadocia, Prófugos, Mandrake, and now Señor Ávila, we continue setting the highest production standards in the industry,” he added.
The actors confirmed for this production include Tony Dalton, Nailea Norvind, Carlos Aragon, Adrian Alonso, Fernando Becerril, Jorge Caballero and Hernán Mendoza, among others.
Consisting of 13 hour-long, episodes, Señor Avila is under the executive production of HBO Latin America Originals. The series will be produced by Billy and Fernando Rovzar from Lemon Films and directed by Fernando Rovzar, Alejandro Lozano and Alfonso Pineda. The story was written by Walter and Marcelo Slavich (writers of the successful HBO Original Production, Epitafios).
